National Development Planning Minister Armida Alisjahbana said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had not contacted her related to her possible nomination as a finance minister candidate.

"No, not yet," she said when asked by reporters whether she had been called by the Presidential Palace as a candidate to replace Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati who would serve the World Bank starting June 1.

"We're all the President's servants in the Cabinet. It is the President's prerogative [to name the replacement]," she added.

Armida was meeting Mulyani about climate change at the Finance Ministry on Friday night.

She said she was surprised knowing Mulyani had been appointed by the World Bank. Armida was in Riyadh when she heard the news.

"We really respect and appreciate Mulyani's achievements. Beside internal reform, I appreciate her leadership in international forums. Some forums came from Indonesia's initiatives," said Armida.
